Get creative with an unusual Christmas tree!

Every year most of us put up a Christmas tree in our houses for the festive season. The idea of putting up these trees originates from Germany in the 16th Century and has been taken up by Christian societies worldwide as a stable Xmas tradition in recent times. Conventionally most people purchased a natural pine with, or without roots to place presents under; it’s initial symbolism somewhat lost as a reminder of ‘life’ throughout the miserable winter months – read more on the history of the Christmas tree here. Then came along the artificial tree which is more convenient as there is no needle shedding and the tree can be used time and time again (as long as you keep it well packaged). Furthermore you won’t be killing an otherwise happy, living pine (if you normally purchase one without roots)!

But why stick with a normal, boring green tree? In this day and age of expressionism and house decoration being somewhat of a national obsession – why not go for something more exciting? Various new colours can now be purchased to compliment your interior décor and individuality. Choose from pink, silver, gold and even be most advent garde and choose a dramatic black Christmas tree. Not only will these trees prove a talking point but will match most colour combinations in regards to decoration. Such artificial trees come in various sizes and styles with plenty to choose from. Decorate your new tree with typical decorations or even add LED lighting for maximum theatric effects.

Whatever you do this Christmas don’t be boring, buy an unusual Christmas tree and reuse it for years to come.
